The first two quilts on the new frame were quilted with a poly batting and I think that it caused some issues with the thread and breakage. I am going to quilt one more charity quilt for the Guild using Warm & Natural to see if that takes care of the problem.
I still plan to head to the quilt shop on Saturday to get the attachment to make using spools a little easier. Hopefully, I can get this one quilted with too many issues tomorrow night and then load up a customer quilt after that!

Is it the thread mast or spool pin that you are missing. I do find that I have thread breaks when I don't use the right size needle. I generally use an 18 on my HQ16. Hope you get it worked out, I know it is frustrating.
Loaded up. Thought it was another cinco de mayo blog... LOL!
Hope it works out and you can sail along...
Hope you are able to figure out the issues with thread breakage.
oooooo. I can't wait for mine to get done!
Like Chris, I use a bigger needle - an 18 or 20 with just about every thread - that usually makes the difference for me. Good luck!
