After shopping most of yesterday, I was able to spend the evening knitting and working on binding while cuddling with the pups. I finished the binding on 2 place mats and the knitting on another baby cap. This brings my total to 2 caps out of 12 for the year. I also sewed the label on a wall hanging and can now call it a finish for 2010!
Today, I got up at 10 AM which is a lot later than I had intended. I started laundry, cleaned the kitchen and ate breakfast while reading emails and blogs. Very relaxing!
This afternoon, I decided to do a little quilting and I loaded a piece of Shrek fabric and orange flannel for the backing and went to town. After a mis-start due to thread issues, I didn't have a single issue on the whole quilt and was able to get it finished fairly quickly! I also realized that with my stash room being clean (STILL!!!) that I can lay quilts on the floor in there for pictures without getting additional stuff in the picture for the most part. And the quilts will be dog free until they realize that I am snapping shots in that room!
Here is a close up of the fabric. I just did a large meander since I was still testing the machine, needle and thread.
Once I was done quilting, I straightened up my sewing area and staging area - this is where I keep the fabric and projects that I am currently working on. It is not as cluttered so I am hoping that I can keep it this way until I can get back to the machine this week.
After straightening, I finished up the homework for my sock class tomorrow night. Here is how far my sock has come. I think that I may have made the leg a little too tall, but that's OK since they are for me. Hopefully, things will settle once they are washed. And so far, they are very comfortable!!
That's all for now. Time for a little more cuddling with Max and Maisy and then it'll be bedtime! Night, all!!
