Book Review Thursday - 2/28

I am getting closer on finishing Fatal Winter, but I am starting to realize that there are some books and/or authors that I need to listen to the audio version. I would have been done with this book more than a week ago if I had the audio version! As it stands, I have about 100 pages left and I am vowing to get it finished very soon to review next week!

This morning, I finished The Bourne Identity and I thought it was pretty good. I still haven't seen the movie so I am not sure if there is a Carlos in the movie, but I am pretty sure that the beginning is similar. A man is found drifting at sea with several bullet holes and when he wakes up he has no memory of who he is or what he was doing so far from land. The fishermen who save him take him to an alcoholic doctor on a very out of the way island and he recuperates for several months.

Eventually, the man has to leave the island and he follows the only lead he has of his past life - a bank account number in Zurich. Following instincts that he doesn't know that he has, he discovers that his name is Jason Bourne and that there are men after him who want him dead.

What follows is days and weeks of running and trying to stay ahead of the enemies while thinking that he is one of the assassins and deserves to die. And all the while, Bourne is trying to figure out why he knows what he seems to know.

There were times when I really felt like I was going crazy right along with Bourne with all the Cain and Delta and Charlie talk. It wasn't until the end when things started making a lot of sense. But I enjoyed all of the action and the maneuvering that Bourne and Marie did. I think this was definitely worth the read and I am already looking forward to the next one.

My parents loved the Bourne series - hope you enjoy the rest of them.

You should check out the movies after you read the books. They were good movies....and you can't go wrong with Matt Damon! ;)
