October 2010 Monthly Accomplishments

Considering a 3 day quilt retreat in October, this month's list should be incredibly full! Lol

  1. Finished the Bento Box quilt top and prepped the backing and binding
  2. Quilted a quilt for Shellie
  3. Quilted a quilt for Regina
  4. Finished 4 charity quilt bindings - here and here
  5. Made a new purse for retreat
  6. Started working on the Which Witch? Wall hangings
  7. Finished the Black and White Optical Illusion quilt top
  8. Cut fabric for the 2009 teal and brown BOM quilts, made the setting blocks for both quilts and assembled 1 top
  9. Made a BOM binder for the 2009 Mystery BOM and made 3 blocks
  10. Finished knitting my second pair of sock
  11. Bought fabric for my Granma’s 80th birthday quilt, cut the fabric and made the strip sets
  12. Won Halloween goodies from Jen
  13. Received the Paris in the Fall BOM kit
  14. Went to retreat and had a blast meeting new friends and seeing old friends!
  15. Made the blocks and assembled the center of the Orientals quilt
  16. Continued piecing the Whimsy pieces as my leader and ender project
  17. Started knitting another pair of socks – 2 at a time
I'm very shocked at how much I have gotten done during October!

I only got 2 books finished, but I am almost done with one that is 38 hours long. It is very good! A Diana Gabaldon saga!
  1. Love the One You're With by Emily Giffin - Good book, but I didn't like it as much as I did the baby books by her. This book had me wanting to smack the main character sometimes. Well, a couple of the main characters.
  2. The Unsung Hero by Suzanne Brockmann - Soldiers and terrorist plots make up this story. I think it was a little longer than it needed to be, but it all came together in the end.
And lastly, I am very shocked at the amount of hours I spent on quilting this month!! A lot of time spent in retreat prep and sewing during retreat. :)

Hours Spent - Quilting - 95.5; Knitting - 3.5

And Maisy thinks that her UFOs are multiplying! She might be right!

Love Maisy's UFO's - makes me feel MUCH better about mine! :-) Finished the binding on the Munchkin's quilt the other night - now to wash it and get it all crinkly and on to his bed. Love it!

Will there be any more quilt retreats? I had a friend go last year or this year (2011) and raved about it. I would love to go to a quilt show with my daughters.
